I put my hands into clay

and with my hands create a canvas.

The color of the clay,

the texture of the clay,

become part of that canvas.

The process a meditation,

creative energy moving from hands to clay.

 - Margaret King Hunt

Margaret King Hunt is a a remarkable artist. Her hand-built vessels capture the essence of the weightless worlds of negative space and light. Her practice involves working on a single vessel for hours a day, into weeks, into months, patiently and diligently shaping the clay outwards in a radical meditation that questions the structures of labor and commodity and sweat equity.
